A 20th Century bronze sculpture of a female figure, possibly originally conceived as a Karo staff finial, attributed to the Batak peoples of Sumatra, Indonesia. The figure’s head retains a band of horsehair. Of an atypical form for the region, the precise origin and dating remain uncertain; however, the surface patination suggests considerable age. Mounted on a modern black resin museum plinth.
Measurements: 20.5cm high
Condition: In good structural condition, with a naturally developed verdigris patination to the bronze surface. The original horsehair remains intact.
