A Japanese Satsuma Pottery 'Millefleur' Plate, Signed Koshida

A plate of shallow circular form, raised on a rounded foot, meticulously hand-painted with the classic Millefleur ("Thousand Flowers") motif. The surface is richly adorned with an intricate profusion of floral elements, including stylised chrysanthemums and highlighted with enamels and gilded accents. A great example of Meiji-period craftsmanship, signed Koshida to the base.

Measurements: 12.5cm diameter

Condition: No chips or cracks. Exhibits fine crazing to the reverse but not visible from the front.
