A handmade Australian studio pottery bowl of impressive proportions, by Queensland potter Michael Pugh, featuring a stylised turtle motif in vivid turquoise and cobalt blue. The reactive glaze creates beautiful variations of blue, green and oceanic tones across the surface.
Pugh is associated with Middle Earth Pottery in Buderim, Queensland, established in the early 1970s, and marine and nature-inspired imagery is a recurring feature of his work.
Measurements: 33cm diameter
Condition: Excellent, with no chips, cracks or restoration. Imperfections from handmaking are evident as expected.
