A Walnut Oval Inlaid Marquetry Tray, c1920

An English Walnut Oval Inlaid Tray, circa 1920–1930
Of elegant oval form, the tray is finely worked with a central marquetry panel enclosing a small oval mother-of-pearl reserve, framed within a rope-twist inspired band of inlay. The border similarly enriched with conforming inlay, the rim flanked by two well-proportioned, gently curved handles.

Measurements: 33cm from handle to handle x 19cm diameter.

Condition: Excellent, with no losses of inlay, no evident chips or structural cracks. Some fine veneer cracking to the exterior curved border commensurate with age and construction.
