Dating to the first half of the 19th century, this fine brass three-draw telescope was produced by Spencer, Browning and Rust of London. The instrument is fitted with a mahogany-covered barrel and engraved with a presentation inscription from the Greenwich Hospital Upper School, dated 1831.
Measurements: 57cm long when fully extended (20.5cm retracted x 4.3cm diameter)
Condition: Overall in excellent condition, with an attractive natural patina to the brass. The glass lenses at both ends are intact and free from cracks, fogging, or scratches. A small, insignificant dent is present to the brass beneath the inscription.
