Two (2) Ancient Luristan Bronze Arrow Heads, circa 1200 - 800 BC, sold together.
The narrow arrowheads feature a raised mid rib and a small opening which was to allow for the insertion of a wooden shaft to form the complete arrow projectile. They showcase green verdigris patination and earthly encrustations on the bronze, testament to the objects’ prolonged burial underground prior to excavation.
FOUND: Excavated from Hamadan (province): Nihavand (West Iran).
Reference: Many examples have been excavated in graves in Luristan at Tang-i Hamamlan. We recommend reading (O. W. Muscarella, Bronze and Iron, New York 1988, refer to pages 289-92).
Provenance: Ex Abelita family collection, 1980-2015
