The Contrast series from Kosta Boda is manufactured using a technique called centrifugation. The technique, invented in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in the 1950s, creates veils of colour inside the glass mass, making each piece unique. The big blue/blue dish is perfect as a standalone sculptural bowl, or for fruits and other visual displays, designed by Sweden's leading contemporary glass artist Anna Ehrner.
As one of the largest glassware groups in the Nordic countries, Kosta Boda has long created glass that is both artistic and functional – since 1742. Back then, Kosta Boda’s clientele included royalty, nobility, and wealthy merchants; those who could afford the company’s costly bottles, drinkware, window panes and even chandeliers. Since the mid 20th Century, they have partnered with the world's leading glass maestro's and designers to produce some of the most successful glass products that we still use throughout our homes today.
