A wonderfully simple, yet complex retro oil painting depicting a vase of sunflowers. Maintaining a small colour palette, Bednes was able to capture the entity of the flowers beautifully in this still life.

Mr Emil Bednes was born in Yugoslavia in 1938 and was an important member of the Geelong School. Mastering restoration and conservation of clients artwork, his own art would reflect that of old masters, prevailing as a copiest working in oil, watercolour and pastels.
