Eric Juckert (Australia, 1918 - 2004)
A hand-thrown pottery vase with a four-way flared rim, decorated with applied leaves around the shoulder, finished with an off-white spatter glaze and yellow interior. It dates from the period just prior to 1950 and bears a hand incised 'Eric Juckert' signature to the base.
Measurements: 9cm high x 7cm wide at the opening.
Condition: In great condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Glaze and surface imperfections commensurate with hand making techniques.
Biography: Eric Juckert was a prolific Australian Studio Potter and painter who had studied with Una Deerborn in South Yarra, Melbourne. He worked as a potter and painter from around 1949 to 1992 in Victoria. His pottery was also sold by the department stores Myer and David Jones under the trade name “Jacqueline”.
