A small Ayutthaya Kingdom period stoneware bottle, of globular form, comfortably fitting within the palm of the hand. The short, narrow neck is carefully proportioned to regulate the flow of oil, terminating in a slightly flared mouth to facilitate controlled pouring or dabbing. Examples like this one are characteristic of the period and were commonly associated with domestic use.
Age: 16th - 18th Century
Measurements: 6.2cm high x 8cm diameter
Condition: In well-preserved condition, with surface mineral accretions consistent with water submersion, likely retrieved from a shipwreck. No chips or cracks observed.
