Condition: Artwork is in good condition - No evidence of punctures, mould or restoration. The original frame possesses scratches, indentations and small losses of gold gilding.

Biography: Jon Molvig was born in Newcastle, NSW and is considered a pioneer of 20th-century Australian expressionism. He won the Archibald Prize in 1966 with his portrait of painter Charles Blackman and countless other art prizes throughout his short-lived career. His works have fetched upwards of $100,000 at Australian Auctions and are held in several major Collections including The Queensland Art Gallery, Art Gallery of NSW, National Gallery of Victoria and the National Gallery of Australia.
