Condition: Artwork is in good condition with no rips or tears. Some light spots of foxing to the upper left corner. Frame has two small spots of light rubbing to the silvered finish, as pictured.
Biography: Juris Soikans was a successful Latvian born career painter, etcher and printmaker, and a member of the Latvian Artists Union. His focus was on abstract and surrealist art that conveyed historical situations, 'real-world problems' and landscapes. Since 1942, he took part in approximately 260 exhibitions, 54 from which were solo exhibitions held around the world, including in the USA, Australia, Spain, Canada and Sweden. He lived and worked throughout Germany, London and Latvia.
