A pair of Victorian brass ‘Beehive’ ejector candlesticks, circa 1890. The ejection mechanism allows wax to be removed from the top sconce by pressing from beneath. Each candlestick bears an impressed registration mark along the base edge.
Measurements: 24cm high
Condition: The brass retains its original patina, with areas of copper exposure and traces of light verdigris visible within the crevices. Minor casting imperfections are present, consistent with the manufacturing process. With brass, it's a matter of personal preference whether to have natural patina which shows its age and character, or a polished look to highlight the metal's colour. We have left these candlesticks in original unpolished, patinated condition.
